Alan C. Warneke, formerly President of Ortman Fluid Power, passed away March 2, 2014 from lung cancer—he would have been 87 this month. Warneke started his career with the Parker Press Division. In 1972 he moved to Ortman Fluid Power, as the Sales Manager. Shortly after that, he was promoted to VP of Sales and in 1980 he was promoted to President. He held this position until retirement in 1988. He and his wife Joan then spent the next several years traveling and enjoying retirement. Alan was very involved in the NFPA and loved cylinders.
Aventics, is the new name of Rexroth Pneumatics, a new standalone company whose name combines the terms Advantage, Invention and Pneumatics. The medium-sized manufacturer of pneumatic components and systems intends to further expand its market position by addressing industries that it has not focused on previously.
Bosch Rexroth announced it is accepting registration for all of its 2014 Hydraulics Technical Training Courses designed for industrial and mobile hydraulics systems engineers. The course schedule is available online at www.boschrexroth-us.com/training.
The World Economic Forum has announced that Austin Ramirez, President & Chief Executive Officer of HUSCO International, has been named to the Young Global Leaders (YGL) Class of 2014. Ramirez joins 214 honorees from 66 countries and all sectors of society that are being recognized for their professional achievement and commitment to society. Upon notification of his nomination Ramirez remarked that he was “humbled by the opportunity to join this dynamic community of global leaders and looking forward to contributing as an active member.”
Marmon/Keystone LLC has announced that Ron Lenhart has been promoted to vice president commercial at the Butler, PA corporate office. Ken Sichelski has been named senior vice president sales and marketing at the Bolinbgrook, IL office. Regional vice president Barry Glaser will assume oversight of Marmon/Keystone Mexico’s operations. Based out of Marmon/Keystone’s Los Angeles, CA service center, Glaser is also responsible for eight locations throughout the Western United States. Upon Marmon/Keystone president J.T. “Tim” Spatafore’s retirement on March 31, all of the company’s vice presidents will report to Alan Wilkinson, president of Marmon Distribution Services, Inc.
Sun Hydraulics Corporation’s Board of Directors recently announced a $5.7 million shared distribution and $0.09 per share quarterly dividend. “Sales were strong in the fourth quarter with growth in all geographic markets,” said Allen Carlson, Sun Hydraulics’ president and CEO. “Operationally, we maintained healthy margins throughout the year.”
