About NFPA Fluid Power Challenge The Fluid Power Challenge was created by the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA) as a way to engage students and introduce them to science and engineering in a fun environment. The Challenge allows for a hands-on opportunity for kids to experiment with fluid power while learning about the values of teamwork, problem-solving, coordination, organization, and communication. Over the years, the Fluid Power Action Challenge – our middle school competition – has proven to be one of the most fun and creative ways to get students excited about learning, and about the STEM industry. Our other challenges (Robotics and Vehicle) are designed to educate high school and college students on the rewarding careers they can have in the fluid power industry, and get them engaged with hydraulics and pneumatics in a hands-on way. The Fluid Power Challenge was created to help develop the future fluid power workforce and encourage students to consider a career in engineering. The Challenge also provides an opportunity for NFPA member companies to engage with their community and make connections with students, teachers, and parents. About NFPA NFPA is a trade association that represents the fluid power industry. It is comprised of member companies throughout the supply chain in both hydraulics and pneumatics, as well as partners at educational institutions and trade publications.
