The start of the school year means that teams are starting to register for the 2025 NFPA Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge! Thanks to the support of NFPA members, the FPVC is expanding to three final competition locations. IMI plc will host the first competition on April 9-11, 2025, in Rockford, Illinois. The second competition will be hosted by Danfoss Power Solutions in Ames, Iowa on April 23-25, 2025. IFP Motion Solutions Inc. is hosting the third competition in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on April 30 – May 2nd. For industry registration details, please reach out to Mary Pluta at mpluta@nfpa.com.
The active involvement of industry members in the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge makes the program a success. NFPA members serve as mentors and judges throughout the year. By sharing their knowledge and experience in the fluid power industry, these mentors and judges make an impact on the 21st century fluid power workforce.
One of the best ways to recruit the students who participate in this program is to attend the virtual Networking Mixer on Friday, November 1st at 1 PM CDT. We strongly encourage HR staff to attend along with mentors, sponsors and judges from their companies. The Networking Mixer lets you engage with students in Zoom breakout rooms. Additionally, Pascal Society Donors will have exclusive access to students’ resumes before the event.
Students who take part in the Vehicle Challenge gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience with fluid power components, circuits, and systems. They learn how these elements are utilized to manage force and motion effectively.
*Participating in the Vehicle Challenge Program is an opportunity reserved for donors to the Pascal Society. Find out if your company is already a donor here. Interested NFPA members who are not donors are welcome to participate once to see how the program works and the advantages associated with being involved.
Programs like the Fluid Power Vehicle Challenge are made possible in part by the generous support of industry volunteers as well as NFPA Education and Technology Foundation and Pascal Society donors. Support these efforts by making a donation.
