2018 IEOC

A record-breaking 324 attendees from over 175 companies attended the 2018 Industry & Economic Outlook Conference (IEOC) at the Westin Chicago North Shore last week.

This year’s conference attracted a number of first-time attendees and also included a number of fresh perspectives from new speakers to supplement conference favorites like Alan Beaulieu and Jim Meil. The high-level takeaway from most presentations is stagnant growth in 2019. Overall attendee feedback was positive as in previous years and illustrated the conference’s value in guiding company strategic planning and data analytics while providing opportunities to connect with professionals from across the fluid power supply chain.

The NFPA Foundation Golf Tournament that officially opened the IEOC was also a record breaker with over 124 golfers from almost 70 companies braving the heat for a day of golf to benefit the NFPA Foundation. Over $10,000 was raised through sponsorships, and the 50/50 raffle hit a new high amount with $2,000 in tickets sold. That brought the money raised for the NFPA Education and Technology Foundation to $11,000 for this one-day event.

Other special networking opportunities included a brand-new networking breakfast with a panel discussion, the well-attended Future Leaders lunch that featured a presentation on innovation from Andrew Johnson of ShelfAware, and the post-conference Future Leaders tour of the Dura-Bar foundry.

Thank you to all our attendees for helping make this a successful event!
