Lynn Beyer, NFPA Workforce Manager, visited Steffen Middle School in Mequon, Wisconsin. Eighth grade students there had participated in the NFPA Fluid Power Challenge at the Milwaukee School of Engineering in December of 2013. After that, teacher Charles Bradley conducted a classroom event at Steffen. He instructed his students to determine what, if any, modifications need to be made to the machines to make them more successful. When Lynn visited, the class was working on creating a CAD version of a fluid power arm.
