Another Record-Breaking IFPE

IFPE 2017 and its co-located partner, CONEXPO-CON/AGG, broke records March 7-11 in Las Vegas. The two shows spanned a record 2.8 million net square feet of exhibit space and featured a record 2,800-plus exhibitors. IFPE by itself featured more than 500 exhibitors in over 175,000 sq ft of exhibit space. Represented companies ranged from large, multinational companies to small, more specialized ones. Approximately 130,000 people from all over the world were in attendance.

One popular addition to the show was the all-new Tech Experience, where Project AME (pictured right), the world’s first 3D-printed excavator, made its debut and attracted solid traffic throughout the week.

“Keeping pace with technology is critical for our industry’s success, and the 3D-printed excavator featuring fluid power innovations is a perfect example of the show’s future-forward commitment to explore innovations that are happening now and the exciting possibilities ahead,” said Robert Mortensen, IFPE 2017 chair and president of HUSCO International.

The Tech Experience also featured “Tech Talks” from industry innovators as well as a glimpse into the future of jobsites, infrastructure development, and workforce development.

NFPA Booth IFPE 2017On the show floor, the NFPA booth also attracted a bit of traffic as members made use of the available meeting space or stopped by for our scheduled mini educational talks, covering topics including industry statistics, standards development, and fluid power education. NFPA also hosted a number of meetings during IFPE, including the World Fluid Power Summit, which featured presentations on trends and forecasts from 13 participating countries, and meetings for subgroups of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO/TC 131.
