In August, NFPA launched the 2024-25 Fluid Power Action Challenge season with the annual Organizer and Host meeting. This STEM-based competition challenges middle and high school students to solve an engineering problem using fluid power.
Students work in teams to design and build a fluid power machine and compete against other teams in a timed competition. Teams explore fluid power through hands-on learning that reinforces STEM and life skills (collaboration, problem solving, time management, project management, and communication). The event has also been known to help students uncover fluid power educational and career pathways.
NFPA members can inspire fluid power education by volunteering at an event or hosting one. You be able to engage with educators and students, discuss fluid power careers, and help students think through engineering problems. Please contact James Foster (jfoster@nfpa.com) to learn more and get involved.
