NFPA members and guests converged last week on Manalapan, Florida for the 2014 Annual Conference of the National Fluid Power Association (NFPA). The Annual Conference is the one time when all task force members, board members, committee members, council members and future leaders come together to decide on initiatives, shape the direction of their projects and vote on key decisions. The conference afforded members one of the best opportunities to come together for education and networking.
Attending the conference in style was certainly fun, but it was the speaker line up that kept attendees buzzing during the networking opportunities after the sessions ended. Peter Zeihan’s “Powers of Today, Powers of Tomorrow” gave an approachable, fresh look at geopolitics and the “why’s” behind market trends. Jeffrey Lumetta’s provocative approach to innovation in the workforce challenged attendees to look at their work environment with fresh eyes. And Max Brown, from the Shingo Institute, inspired us to look at leadership from a place that creates companies where employees say, “I’m happy here. Why would I ever want to leave?”
Mark your calendars for the 2015 NFPA Annual Conference to be held March 11 – 13, 2015 in San Diego, CA.
