Parker Hannifin logo Parker Hannifin turned 100 earlier this year and celebrated with a special website dedicated to the occasion. The company was started by Arthur Parker as Parker Appliance Company and manufactured pneumatic brake systems and leak-free fittings in Cleveland, Ohio. His first patent was for a hydraulic device that regulated electric generator speed. More than 8,000 patents later, the company now serves industrial, aerospace, life science, oil & gas, construction, and agriculture markets.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of ARGO-HYTOS. Its roots go back to Argo GmbH, which was founded in 1947 in Stuttgart, Germany and grew to specialize in magnetic filters in the years that followed. The company has traded under ARGO-HYTOS since 2003, 10 years after acquiring HYTOS, the Czech hydraulic manufacturer.
