On April 3, a team of four representatives from FORCE America traveled to visit Northglenn High School’s 10th grade engineering class. In partnership with the STEM coordinator and engineering teacher, the FORCE America team was able to incorporate a kit build with various types of platform lifters, cherry pickers, scissor lifts, and excavators in conjunction with their traditional fluid power curriculum. The team opened with a brief introduction to FORCE America and the fluid power industry, speaking about everyday applications to the two groups of 30 students.
The introduction was made through NFPA’s Student Career Connections program, which is intended to partner educators with industry representatives in their community. In addition to the students getting hands-on experience with classroom kits, fluid power professionals discuss potential career options.
