West Maui Sea Cliff Hike; 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Cost: $178.00 per person

Start with one of the most scenic drives on Maui and then add a stop at the island’s most northern point which is doubly famous for its blowhole and strange rock formations.  Next stop is the Ohai Trail — a one-mile loop that will take you over rolling hills 200 feet above the ocean.

Notes:  No children under 6 years old allowed on tour; recommended clothing—athletic shoes or sport sandals, shorts, shirt, hat and sunscreen.

Thursday, February 9

West Maui Horseback Riding; 1:15 pm – 3:45 pm

Cost: $145.00 per person

Just minutes away from the Ritz Kapalua you will find yourself on horseback, riding into the West Maui Mountains, across historical pineapple fields, and into a tropical forest. The horses are the “stars” at this ranch with names you’ll recognize, yet coming in a close second is the flora and fauna of Maui.

Notes: This ride is for all riding levels but children must be at least 8 years of age. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required.

Maui Kayaking; 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Cost: $220.00 per person

Explore the blue waters of the Pacific by kayak and discover a different side of Maui: stunning coastlines, pristine tropical waters full of sea-life and colorful coral reefs. Snorkeling equipment will be available if conditions are right.

Notes: No children under 5 years old are allowed. There are no restrooms at the beach. Bring sunscreen, hat and wear your swimsuit. Do not bring valuables.

NFPA Golf Outing; 12:30 pm Semi-Shotgun Start

Cost: $250.00 per person

To be played on the championship Bay Course at Kapalua—a course that is as challenging as it is beautiful. This outing will be played in a Scramble format so you can enjoy both camaraderie and scenery plus have a fun, memorable round.

Evening Bus Transportation to Lahaina; 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

Cost: $40.00 per person round trip

Thursday evening, February 9, is open for conference attendees to make their own dinner plans and although there are dining choices in Kapalua, an evening in Lahaina Town is a great option. NFPA is offering round-trip bus transfer service on Thursday evening for those with dining reservations in Lahaina or just the desire to explore.

Bus to leave at 5:30 pm from Ritz Kapalua and return from designated point in Lahaina at 9:00 pm.

Note: If you are not at the designated return spot by 9:00 pm you will need to arrange alternate return transportation. Bus fee is non-refundable.

Friday, February 10

Exclusive 7 Line Zip-Line Adventure; 12:45 pm – 5:30 pm

Cost: $240.00 per person

Experience the natural splendor of Hawaii as you fly over the West Maui Mountains via seven ziplines covering two miles of parallel cable lines.  You’ll glide over exotic native forest and a 50 foot waterfall.  This opportunity features state-of-the-art, extra comfortable nylon rip-stop swing harnesses, eight spans—including two over 2,000 feet long, innovative “zipperlifter,” and a parallel zipline system.

  • Exclusive, guided zipline experience (approx. 4 hour 15 minute duration)

Thar she blows! Imagine hearing that while you are aboard a specially equipped, flat-bottom whale watching raft. This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to see these majestic mammals up close. Did you know it is a widely accepted fact that the Au’au Channel (Coastal Maui and Lana’i) receives the second largest concentration of Humpbacks during the winter months? The largest concentration is located just off the coast of Moloka’i, which is also in Maui County and within the range of the rafts on a calm day.

Notes: Not recommended for pregnant women, people with bad backs, or children under the age of 3 years old. Best to wear a swimsuit under a cover-up/shorts & t-shirt. Bring sun protection and light jacket or sweatshirt. Have cell phones & cameras in a dry bag.
