Getting the Most out of the App Available now for both iPhone and Android devices, the new NFPA Events app, sponsored by Yates Industries, allows conference attendees to stay connected and up to date with push notifications, resort maps, daily schedules, speaker info and more. Below are some tips to get the app and make use of it at the conference. Getting the App To download the app, click one of the following links using your mobile device: iPhone users: iTunes App Store Android users: Google Play To access the Annual Conference content, you will need to sign in to the app. Here’s how: Username: Enter the email address that you provided NFPA when signing up for the 2018 Annual Conference Password: Your default password will be: nfpa2018 You can change your password by selecting the ‘Reset Password’ option during sign-in. The app will send you an email to do so. The email may get stuck in spam filters or corporate firewalls. If you have reset your password and have not received an email, and you haven’t found it in your spam folder, email Katrina Schwarz at email@example.com for further assistance. Using the App Speaker Q & A Ask session speakers questions during or after their presentations. From the app menu, select ‘Speaker Q & A’ and then select the session that you are attending. Select the ‘Channel’ tab at the top of the screen, then hit the ‘Join Channel’ button and type in your question. Click here for more detailed instructions. Agenda The full day-by-day schedule allows you to see when and where conference events are happening. Map See where an event is occurring in the agenda, but unsure of how to get there? The app includes a map of the resort. Activity Feed The best opportunity for networking that the app offers, the activity feed is the first thing that you’ll see once signing in and can also be accessed at any time from the menu. The activity feed is similar to a Facebook or Twitter feed, meaning that you can share photos and statuses with other attendees. Profile In order to make the most of your networking experience, finish filling in your app profile by uploading a profile picture or simply syncing with your LinkedIn account. From the menu, click on your name at the top of the screen to access your profile.
